Character and Curb Appeal: A Fundraising Partnership

Each year, thousands of tickets for the Saskatoon Hospital Home Lottery are sold to community members with hopes of winning one of many desirable prizes. The prizes range in value from vehicles to dream vacations; however, it's the Grand Prize Show Home that generates the most excitement.

This year's 2016 show home is a luxury 3,735 square foot walkout in Greenbryre Estates worth a whopping $1.6 million. The home comes fully furnished, professionally decorated and landscaped. Everything from the light fixtures to the insulation is generously provided at a discounted price or donated by local businesses including Creative Door's Saskatoon branch, which donated the stylish Richards-Wilcox Landmark Series garage doors.

The black flush doors feature an authentic wood grain texture that complements the home's contemporary style, while large windows flood the inside of the garage with natural light. Not only are the doors aesthetically pleasing, but they also have pinch-resistant panels to help keep family members safe.

"We are thrilled to be a part of the lottery and to donate one of our most popular products," says Dwayne Porter, residential sales associate at Creative Door's Saskatoon branch. "We hope that the winning family or individual enjoys the home for years to come."

While the show home and other prizes are enticing, it's all for a good cause. Proceeds from the ticket sales support Saskatoon's three hospitals: The Royal University Hospital Foundation, St. Paul's Hospital Foundation, and the Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation.

The funds donated to the Royal University Hospital Foundation benefit patients, physicians, and medical teams through upgrades to their system for transporting lab samples. St. Paul's Hospital Foundation will be putting this year's funds toward a state-of-the-art suite for ear, nose and throat surgery, and the Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation will be focusing on improving overall healthcare at the hospital.
