Chris Jacobs - A Creative Door Employee Making a Difference

Over the past 20 years Chris Jacobs, Saskatoon branch manager, has donated his time, blood, and platelets to those in need. Just this past July, he made his one hundredth platelet donation! As a regular blood and platelet donor, Chris has spent countless hours at the clinic in Saskatoon hooked up to a device that collects platelets from his blood. Platelets are often used for cancer patients to reduce the risk of serious bleeding, or for those with a weakened immune system.

“Donating blood is not hard, and it’s a great way volunteer your time—and you may be saving someone’s life!” says Chris. “Creative Door has been very generous with this initiative, as they continue to provide time off so I can make a difference.”

With the rare A+ blood type and no system viruses, Chris is also able to donate his platelets to babies, which only 15 per cent of our world’s population can do! We would like to recognize and thank Chris for his dedication to such a good cause. We are proud of the impact he is making to our community. Keep up the great work!
