Creative Door Employees Gives Back to the Community with the 12 Days of Christmas Food Bank Drive

When Creative Door employees thought about this holiday season, they knew they wanted to make a difference and spread the Christmas spirit in their local communities. One of the largest needs during the holiday season is for food at local food banks. To help combat this need, employees joined forces, spurred on by some friendly branch to branch competition, and set a goal of 5,000 pounds of food, in order to help as many families as possible.

With creative minds in overdrive, Creative Door kicked off its 12 Days of Christmas Food Bank Drive competition at the beginning of December. To inspire friendly competition between the branches, employees created a twist on the traditional 12 Days of Christmas song. The idea was to award each branch a point for every pound of food they collected for donation. Bonus points were awarded for each food item that was brought in and that aligned with the day’s theme from the 12 Days of Christmas. Some of the most creative donations have been things like canned shredded chicken for Day 4: Four Calling Birds day and golden pineapple rings for Day 5: Five Golden Rings! The most excting news to report is that not only did the team meet their goal of collecting 5,000 pounds of food, the goal was exceeded by nearly 100 pounds! The total weight of donations collected across the company was an impressive 5,097 pounds! What an outstanding achievement that truly speaks to the engagement and commitment of the Creative Door employees and the passion for giving back to the branch communities.
