Creative Door Regina Gives Back

The Casey Foundation logo

On August 29, 2016, Creative Door's Regina, Saskatchewan branch sponsored a hole at the Capital Cosmopolitan Daytona Homes Charity Golf Classic in support of the Casey Foundation for Autism Support. The Foundation serves to enrich the lives of children with autism and raise public awareness of the condition. The tournament, which took place at the Wascana Country Club in Regina, also included a banquet dinner and silent auction.

"Daytona Homes is a valued and longtime customer of Creative Door, and this is a cause that's close to their heart," says Calvin Barth, general manager at Creative Door's Regina branch. "Year after year, they donate their time, money, and effort to the event. As such, we wanted to show our support."

The Casey Foundation was established in 2005 by a single mother of a child with autism who reached out to families sharing similar experiences. Services and treatments are often limited or unaffordable for these families, but the Casey Foundation helps to relieve some of the emotional and financial strain.

Fundraising efforts have become increasingly challenging for the foundation; however, this year the tournament successfully raised over $50,000. These funds will go towards financial assistance for Saskatchewan families living with autism.

As well as supporting the Capital Cosmopolitan Daytona Homes Charity Golf Classic, the Regina branch partners with the Regina Food Bank and the Canadian Cancer Society.

"We live and make our living in this community," says Calvin. "It's crucial that we give back wherever and whenever we can."
