What is Wayne Dalton?

Wayne Dalton is a residential and commercial garage door company that started over 60 years ago. In 1954, Emanuel Mullet purchased a garage door company in Mt. Eaton, Ohio, and named it Wayne Door because of its origin in Wayne County. Not long after, Mullet moved the new business to a nearby Amish farming community in Mt. Hope, which is where he began building wooden doors from parts being made in Wisconsin.

An evolution of innovation

Over the next several years, the company expanded and added more products to its line, including steel commercial doors, higher energy-efficient insulated garage doors, and the invention of Thermospan doors, which propelled the company ahead of its competition.

In 1982, the company became officially known as Wayne Dalton Corporation, and has continued manufacturing beautifully crafted, quality garage doors our customers love.
