Edmonton Kelly Ramsey building restoration in progress by Creative Door

The Kelly Ramsey Buildings in Edmonton

In 2009, the Kelly Ramsey buildings in Edmonton were destroyed in a fire. However, in 2016, the fire-damaged properties rose from the ashes. After extensive reconstruction and restoration to preserve the building’s original historic charm, the properties reopened as Enbridge Centre.

The team at Creative Door ServicesTM was asked to help make the new Enbridge Centre safer than ever before by installing three Raynor FireCoil rolling steel fire doors. Each door measured 20 feet by 12 feet in size and weighed between 2,200 and 3,500 pounds. We put together a specialized team and consulted several resources to ensure we preserved the building’s integrity and kept everyone safe on site.

The Legislative Building in Saskatchewan

In 2014, the city of Regina’s Legislative building underwent some major cosmetic improvements. The exterior of the majestic dome required extensive repairs to fix the copper roofing, deteriorated stones, and overall facade.

Creative Door ServicesTM was tasked with installing five mini storage doors from industry-leading brand Wayne Dalton. The doors were installed using a tower crane and were removed once the project was completed. The doors allow for easy access to multiple levels of the structure for workers and supplies. Our team also installed a building wrap to help provide insulation for the workers.

Why Wayne Dalton’s Mini Storage Doors Are So Unique

Wayne Dalton’s mini storage doors are versatile, durable, and easy to operate. Made of 26-gauge galvanized steel and fitted with automatic door stops, they feature a steel axle to support the door curtain and counterbalance system. Oil-tempered steel springs provide smooth cycle performance.

The door comprises two layers of aluminum mylar film laminated between two layers of heavy-duty polyethylene air-bubble material. Furthermore, this door has an R-value of 4 to help control heat gain and loss and includes flexible vinyl top and side draft stops as weather seals between the door and the building.

The door opening can be made 10 feet wide by 10 feet high, making it suitable for almost any commercial application. Moreover, the 18-gauge guides allow for easy installation in masonry or steel and don’t require special preparation or tracks.

Raynor FireCoil Doors for your Restoration Project

With their innovative technology and features, you can rely on Raynor FireCoil fire-rated doors to protect your property from fire and smoke. FireCoil doors are made of thick, heavy-duty steel and have a four-hour fire-resistance rating. In addition, these doors are guaranteed to work for a minimum of 10,000 cycles, thanks to their heavy-duty torsion springs.

FireCoil fire-rated doors come with fusible links that melt and automatically release at 74 degrees Celcius.
